What is Dotwell?

Dotwell is the innovative partnership of two of Boston’s most respected community health centers – Codman Square Health Center (CSHC) and the Dorchester House Multi-Service Center (DHMSC). Dorchester House was founded as a settlement house over 120 years ago, and evolved to meet the medical needs of its neighborhood by establishing a primary care health clinic in the 1970s. Codman Square was founded as a health clinic in the 1970s and has since expanded care to include settlement house services.

Though each has followed different paths, we both share a community activist history.  A mission-driven staff and Board are dedicated to providing high quality integrated clinical and community services that address health disparities, build social capital, and meet the complex needs of our community.  The health centers founded Dotwell in 1998 to provide state-of-the-art and enterprise-wide management support including a comprehensive IT infrastructure, a performance improvement framework, development and public policy advocacy, as well as financial management.
